KARACHI: Sources have informed, that the anti-corruption tribunal of Pakistan Cricket Board has summoned opening batsman Nasir Jamshed and the anti-corruption unit of Pakistan Cricket Board for a preliminary hearing on next Friday. The sources further confirmed that Nasir has been exempted from personally appearing in the hearing by the tribunal, and can appear through video link.
World Soccer’s ruling body, FIFA has said that it has lifted a four-match suspension on Argentina forward Lionel Messi. Swiss iconic mountaineer Ueli Steck also known as ‘Swiss Machine’ died in an accident at Camp II of Mount Everest on Sunday. Pakistan’s junior hockey team on Saturday defeated the New South Wales state team by striking 3-2 in the final of Australia’s national junior hockey championship. Naveed Alam made great score during the match hours and ended up the tournament as Pakistan’s top scorer with five goals. FIFA ethics panel opened formal proceedings against Caribbean soccer official Gordon Derrick in a corruption investigation. KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board has shortlisted five regions for the selection of the sixth team of the Pakistan Super League, third edition to be held next year. While proposing the sixth team franchise, the PCB said that it has picked out Hyderabad, Dera Murad Jamali, FATA, Faisalabad and Multan on the basis of provincial representation and domestic cricket ranking on merit.
DHAKA: On Wednesday, the Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan had announced that Pakistan will not tour Bangladesh this year as per schedule, while the Bangladesh Cricket Board is now considering to issue a show cause notice to Pakistan Cricket Board for cancelling its tour to Bangladesh. Pakistan was scheduled to play two Test matches, three One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 International in July and August.
